The 6th Orange County Women’s Health Summit: Exploring the Intersection of Social Determinants & Women’s Health in Orange County took place on Friday, October 12, 2018 at UC Irvine. Thank you to our incredible presenters and to the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, UC Irvine for co-hosting the Summit on the UC Irvine campus.

Social determinants of health (SDOH) are defined by the World Health Organization as the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and are the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development agendas, social norms, social policies and political systems.  SDOH are responsible for health inequities – the unfair and avoidable differences in health status within and between communities.
